JOB TITLE: EVENTS AND COMMUNITY OFFICER

REPORTING TO: Public Affairs and Communications Manager

STATUS: Permanent, full-time. There is a 6 month probation period.

LOCATION: Remote working to adhere with Public Health guidelines,
usual office base in Phoenix Park, Dublin. Part-remote working into
the future can be discussed.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 6 Months

HOURS OF WORK: **Apply on the website** hours a week Monday-Friday,
occasional weekend commitments

ABOUT GAISCE

Gaisce ?The President?s Award is a self-development programme for
young people which enhances confidence and wellbeing through
participation in personal, physical and community challenges.

Gaisce is a direct challenge from the President of Ireland to all
young people aged **Apply on the website** to dream big and realise
their potential.

Gaisce is non-competitive and self-directed: participants are
encouraged to choose their own activities and goals with the support
of their President?s Award Leader (or PAL).

There are more than 1,**Apply on the website** active PALs across
Ireland, working or volunteering in a variety of Gaisce Award Partners
(GAPs i.e. organisations that deliver the Gaisce programme). 2

GAPs include schools and third level institutions, youth services,
community organisations, sports clubs, private enterprises, as well as
the prison and probation service.

There are three levels of Gaisce Award?Bronze, Silver and Gold.

achieved across all levels and, today, more than **Apply on the

their Gaisce Award annually.

THE COMMS AND EVENTS TEAM

The post holder will be part of a successful and close-knit team,
reporting to the Public Affairs and Communications manager. This role
will work closely with the Digital Media and Communications officer.

Whilst each member of the team has well-defined core responsibilities,
the team is expected to work collaboratively to ensure the overall
successful achievement of the Gaisce Awards? development goals. In
practice, this will mean assisting other members of the wider Gaisce
team in carrying out some of their functions.
